    Celebrities consistently credit Pilates as the reason for their toned muscles, and trainers have similarly maintained that the workout is good for building muscle tone.

    Messman explains: “Pilates builds long, lean muscles, improves core strength, flexibility, and balance. Plus, it can improve your posture, allowing you to stand taller and avoid injury. Huh.”

    6. You Can Do It From Home

    That’s where Pilates comes in – a great way to tailor your workout from home.

    Use this: The trainer shares that the ideal plan to follow would be drawn up by a qualified professional. He recommends visiting the studio once every few months to make sure your technique is still correct and that you’re getting the most out of your training.

Pilates programs are praised by everyone from athletes to office workers for their ability to develop strength and correct posture in key areas of your hips, lower back, upper back and neck.     “Most classes will focus on the most common areas that people need to work – freeing up the commonly overactive areas of the chest, upper shoulders, Breast spine (upper back) and hip flexor muscles. Plus, you’ll activate and strengthen it glutealsabdominals and shoulder stabilizers,” Messman explains.

    In each class, you will activate these muscles in isolation and then progressively work them into more compound and dynamic functional movements, allowing your body to perform these functional movements more easily from day to day. “All of this significantly improves dynamic stability – the ability to keep the body in better alignment for longer periods of time, maintaining upright posture, stability and responsiveness.”

    8. It’s a Safe Pregnancy Workout

    Pregnancy and childbirth are a time of significant change for the body, obviously, and it’s important that you consult with your doctor about when you should and shouldn’t exercise (regardless of whether or not you can exercise during pregnancy). Read our guide for that).

    That said, studies have shown that Pilates can actually help you through childbirth — as Messman points out, research shows that mothers who exercise their core muscles regularly, They may experience less labor and reduce lower back and pelvic pain.

    Attending classes during pregnancy can also help you build a stronger body for birth and onward, share experts. ‘It is widely understood that the right kind of exercise can boost your immune system and circulation, help provide the energy levels needed during pregnancy and prepare you for labor. However, as with any type of exercise, always check with your doctor first. Also remember to tell your trainer that you are pregnant before you start class.”

    Finally, one of the major benefits of Pilates is its ability to reduce chronic pain.
